The Lenru

The Lenru is a fabulous pre-war co-op overlooking the historic Williamsbridge Reservoir Oval Park and located on the border of Westchester County, in the Norwood section of the Bronx. This amazing six story brick finished elevator building features a beautiful gated courtyard within a well maintained garden setting. Apartments within this complex offer large spacious rooms with bright polished hardwood floors, plenty of windows for natural light, and ample amount of closets. Many of these apartments at the Lenru are larger than some homes.

Built in 1928, the unique architecture of the Lenru is in the Jacobethan Revival style, which combined Tudor, Gothic, and Elizabethan accents. The building was earmarked for restoration by the Moshulu Preservation Corporation in the late 1980s, becoming the corporation’s first rehabilitation project. It was sold to the Lenru Apartment Corporation to complete its conversion into a co-op in 1991.

The building is six stories tall and contains 104 apartments. Each unit is owned by individual owners. Amenities include a gated entryway, 24 hour on site super and maintenance staff, modern laundry room, a bike storage area, and a spacious community room available for gatherings and parties. Additional personal storage space is also available within the building upon request.

Convenient access to the shopping districts on Jerome Avenue, Bainbridge Avenue, and Gun Hill Road are all within walking distance. In addition to local shopping, the neighborhood is also home to Montefiore and North Bronx Central Hospitals. Multiple greenspaces surround the complex. In addition to the Williamsbridge Reservoir Oval Park, Van Cortland Park, Bronx River and Mosholu Parkway are all just a stones throw away. Transportation to the Manhattan and to Westchester County is easily available via bus, subway or Metro North Transit.
